Draw the Line is a call to action to take our future back into our hands.
Floods, droughts, storms, and heatwaves are getting worse. Food and energy costs are going up while a few billionaires profit and prop up the industries that harm people and pollute our lands, air and waters.
Indigenous leaders from the Amazon to the Pacific have spoken out: our future is at stake. To solve this crisis, the answer is us – the people.
Their words are now echoing around the world. From mass rallies to strikes, walkouts and artistic interventions, this September we will come together to draw the line against injustice, pollution, and violence – and for a future built on peace, clean energy, and fairness.
This world is ours. This is our line to draw.
Whether you're a long-time activist or a newcomer, you’re not alone. We’re here to support you every step of the way. Let's draw the line together!
What's Draw the Line?
Draw the Line is a global week of events, leading up to a weekend of actions on September 19-21, 2025. Ordinary people across the world will come together in a massive show of strength, resistance and celebration to demand real, decisive and urgent action from world leaders.
What are Draw the Line's demands?
We want a better world for ourselves, our children and our communities. A world with clean, affordable energy for everyone. A world where we can speak up for our rights, where people and nature are safe, and where big polluters help pay to fix the climate crisis.
Our future belongs to us, not to polluters and billionaires. This is our line to draw.
We demand:
Energy
Build a clean energy system: stop fossil fuels, fast, fair, and financed
End fossil fuels — no new coal, oil, or gas projects. Phase out existing projects through a global plan, like a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, in order to ensure that each country does its fair part. Build a clean energy system that works for people and the planet — not for polluters and shareholders.
Finance
Fund the Future, Not the Crisis
Public money must serve the public good. Cancel unfair debts, make the super-rich pay more taxes, and make big polluters pay for the damage they’ve caused. Give real climate money as grants, not loans, to countries in the Global South so they can switch to clean energy and fight climate change.
Democracy
Protect People, Not Polluters
Kick fossil fuel companies and their lobbyists out of politics. Decisions about our future should be made by people and communities, especially those most affected by climate change – not big companies. Indigenous peoples, who help protect the Earth, and frontline communities must have a real say in climate talks.
Peace
Defend Human Rights, Freedom, and Peace
Protect the right to protest, organize, and speak out. End war, violent conflict, and genocide.
Land
Restore Our Relationship with Earth
Stop large-scale industrial farming. It makes climate change worse, drives deforestation, relies on burning fossil fuels and violates human rights. Instead, switch to fair agriculture that protects nature, respects land rights, and gives communities control over their own food.
Why September 2025?
In September, world leaders will meet at the UN General Assembly in New York. Six weeks later, they’ll meet again in Brazil for the UN climate summit (COP30). The world needs real action for justice, now – this is our moment to speak up and push them to do more!
What we do now will decide our future. The next five or ten years will define if we manage to keep global heating to a safe level or cross a point of no return – putting not only our planet, but us all in distress.
But instead of taking action, many governments are going backwards. They’re taking away people’s rights, breaking climate promises, and letting big fossil fuel companies keep polluting. Billionaires keep getting richer, while we are stuck paying higher prices for food, rent, and energy and facing the worst of climate impacts.
We need 2025 to be a turning point – for clean energy, peace, and fairness. Let’s make sure our voices are heard!

What kind of action can I organize?
There will be a variety of actions using the concept of drawing a line against [something bad] and/or for [something good]. Some examples:
• Human line
• Drawing a chalk or paint line on the streets
• Holding long banners or cards to form a line together, physically or virtually
These are just some ideas. You're welcome to use your creativity and imagination! We will soon release a toolkit with more action ideas too.
Mass petitions, banner actions, marches, sit-ins, walkouts and community parties are also welcome.
I don't want to organize an action. How can I join one?
No worries! We will soon publish a map with all registered events, where you'll be able to find the action closest to you. Sign up here to get updates directly in your inbox!
Who's organizing Draw the Line?
Draw the Line is a global collective effort co-convened by 350.org, Climate Action Network (CAN), the Global Campaign to Demand Climate Justice (DCJ) and War on Want in collaboration with many other international, regional, and local partners. If you are a group wishing to help promote this effort, please send us your contact details.

Draw the Line is part of a wider series of global mobilizations to reclaim our world and demand system change that is taking place from June through to November: This World is Ours. Globally, peoples and communities are coming together to demand justice in the face of economic turmoils, ecological and climate catastrophes, political instabilities, vicious attacks on fundamental human rights, militarization, and, in places like Palestine and Sudan, genocide.
